Sing.... Just Because!

Kawartha Treble Troupe - Biography

Under the direction of Arlene (Buwalda) Gray , the Kawartha Treble Troupe was originally established in 1996 as Gray’s Girls Chorus.  A 30 member ensemble choir, the name was changed 1998 to accommodate the boys who wished to join.  The group was originally formed for the vocal students of Arlene Gray as part of their training and later opened up to audition.  The Troupe is busy, performing in local Winter Festivals, their own Christmas and Spring concerts,  Peterborough Kiwanis Music Festival, local community centres, churches and outreach music to the elderly. They attended the Canterbury International Music Festival in Canterbury England from July 8-16 2002 where they were the highlight of the concerts.  The choir attended the Niagra International Music Festival in June 2004 and July 2007.

This dynamic group of young people range in age from 10-17 and come from The City of Kawartha Lakes, County of Peterborough and surrounding areas. This provides a strong range of diversity and creativity for young people singing together.

The Troupe rehearse at St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Lindsay on Tuesday from 6:30 to 8:30.  For audition time please contact Arlene Gray at (705) 799-1742.
