Kawartha Treble Troupe - Biography
Under the direction of Arlene (Buwalda) Gray ,
the Kawartha Treble Troupe was originally established in 1996 as Gray’s Girls
Chorus. A 30 member ensemble choir, the
name was changed 1998 to accommodate the boys who wished to join. The group was originally formed for the vocal
students of Arlene Gray as part of their training and later opened up to
audition. The Troupe is busy, performing
in local Winter Festivals, their own Christmas and Spring concerts, Peterborough Kiwanis Music Festival, local
community centres, churches and outreach music to the elderly. They attended
the Canterbury International Music Festival in Canterbury England from July
8-16 2002 where they were the highlight of the concerts. The choir attended the Niagra
International Music Festival in June 2004 and July
2007.
This dynamic group of young people range in age from 10-17 and come from
The City of Kawartha Lakes, County of Peterborough and surrounding areas. This
provides a strong range of diversity and creativity for young people singing
together.
The Troupe rehearse at St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Lindsay on Tuesday
from 6:30 to 8:30. For audition time
